Introducing: The Gamo Hunter Extreme .177 Springer Air-gun
This gun is not a toy. It shoots at an average of 1000 FPS, and with PBA it breaks the sound barrier, and sounds like a .22 rifle. This has only been tested once, as firing PBA from the gun could potentially harm the gas piston if used frequently. But trust me it cracks the sound barrier! This rifle is not recommended for residential use, because apart from it being illegal to discharge a weapon in a residential area, your neighbors might complain about the noise it makes.
I never thought that I would see an air rifle shoot faster than a .45 ACP, and nearly as fast as a 9mm!
I would say, that this rifle is ideal for use on a farm for hunting small to medium varmint, as I have used this rifle to take down a warthog. Like I said - it is not a toy. If you don't believe me, check the hunting videos of the gun on YouTube.
If you are perhaps a parent, who feels like spoiling your kid or looking to get your sons or daughters into hunting, - this is the ideal rifle for you. Not for youngsters though! This gun is extremely powerful and could potentially lead to fatal injuries if misused.
I would not recommend this rifle for competition shooting, as it has a very heavy recoil and albeit that the grouping seen in the picture above is a target shot at 25 m, there is still some deviation when shooting. The gun has been modified to a less powerful spring, in order to improve accuracy, but it is still very potent. It is however, the ideal rifle for hunting or plinking.
As anyone who shoots air-guns knows, the faster the pellet, the less accurate it will be. So if you're trying to get a R2 coin sized grouping at 50 m, don't waste your time, but if you're trying to hit a dassie or a rat at 50 m in a vital area, you will have no problems, I guarantee you.
The air-rifle is chambered in .177, an includes a NC star EURO SERIES Generation 2 3-12x50 cross plex illuminated reticle scope.
It really is a beautiful rifle, and it shoots like a dream. But it is quite bulky and potent. It is not an air-gun for the faint-of-heart.
The price is negotiable, but please, no ridiculous offers. This rifle cost me a pretty penny, and I would say that it was well worth it. The only reason I am selling it, is to purchase a hunting rifle. The licencing procedure will take quite a while, so I am in no hurry to get rid of my air rifle to purchase a hunting rifle.
But if you're interested, please give me a call. It's well worth it.
